40th Anniversary Digital Score Board for Mari's Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa
About the Project
Maris Stella College OBA Colombo branch celebrating a legacy of 40 years, adopted a proposal by the president to assist college with projects that would assists students by and large. This is a deviation from the previous assistance provided on ad hoc requests.
Maris Stella College Thimbirigaskatuwa is a purpose build high school in a 12 acre land about 5 KMS from Maris Stella College Negombo. College accommodates over 2500 students from grade 1 to Advanced level classes. The college boasts of the largest sports grounds in the Gampaha district. Students excel in multiple sports bringing credit and recognition to Maris Stella.
It was noted that the college needs assistance to improve cricket. A need of a score board was a timely requirement to uplift cricket. Maris Stella has produced many National & International level cricketers and match referees. On a proposal made by the Principal Rev Bro Mervyn Perera the OBA Colombo led by the President Ramesh Dassanayake took the courageous decision to supply and install a fully fledged state of the art digital score board for the college. The approximate cost of the project is around 11 million LKR and funds are to be raised to finance the project.
